Cardiac Arrest is a sudden, unexpected loss of heart function, breathing, and consciousness.

Let's break down the word and understand what cardiac arrest is
Cardiac:- Heart
Arrest:- Setback,Stopped

By the above words, we can understand that Cardiac Arrest means stopping the activity of the heart.

(i.e The lack of blood circulation to the heart stops the blood circulation to the brain and other organs can cause the person to lose consciousness, and even leads to die if not treated immediately.)

Also, we called Cardiac arrest as Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) because it causes/happens within a few seconds of time.
  • "70% of heart attack deaths in India last year occurred in the 30-60 age group.
  • "Number of death due to heart attack in India has remained consistently avg 25000 in a year and an avg 28000 in 3years".
  • In the last 10 years from 2012 to 2021, there had been 54% increase in Heart attack deaths- NCRB & ADSI says.
